How to Start

Initial Enquiry
Well you’re in luck! Our friendly team is just a click or phone call away. Enquire today to learn more about fostering. No commitment necessary at this stage – we’re just here to answer any questions you may have.

Home Visit

If you’re still interested after chatting with us, we’ll set up a home visit to get to know you better. We want to learn about your family circumstances and motivation to foster, and we will also explain our therapeutic approach to help children recover from their prior trauma. We will walk you through the Form F assessment process too.

Application and
Assessment

Great! We’ll ask you to fill out an application form and assign a social worker to complete your Form F assessment and necessary checks. You’ll also be invited to our Skills to Foster training course where you’ll get a glimpse of what life as a foster carer is like.

Approval and
Matching

Once your Form F assessment is complete, it will be presented to our fostering panel. After a brief discussion with you, they’ll make a recommendation to the Agency Decision Maker (ADM) who will make the final decision about your approval to foster with New Chapters.

Up and Running

And just like that, you’re up and running! Our family finding officer will carefully match a child or children that can live with you. Your New Chapters journey has officially begun. Are you ready to make the difference that our vulnerable children need?
